After a lot of years, we finally go to Empire City, New York in the Justice Wing universe. For those who've wondered where the alleged Marvel influences on Justice Wing are... well, here you go. For the record, this is a complete Novella. So... budget at least some time for reading it. And despite the header image? Amulet is only mentioned in the story. She doesn't appear.
Another week, and... huh. An actual third post in two weeks. Interviewing Trey, actually getting updates. In this case, picking up where we left off, with Chapman being pulled aside by another of Greystone City's first tier villains... and revealing more about still others... Also? Quentin Crisp references. Because.
Two posts in two days. That likely won't last. Still -- if Interviewing Trey #16 was mostly setup, #17 is where things begin to happen. The language is a little rougher than normal in this one, which came as a surprise to me. This one also begins to fill out the ⎇001JW villain roster, which honestly it's needed. We also have a limited edition villain pastiche collector's set rounded out, which is cool. I hope you enjoy it. There's also a lot of description in this one. "What are you wearing" is just part of any major event on the social calendar, I guess.
After too long, Interviewing Trey returns -- and I've actually got the next several posts of this serial in various forms of complete along with it. In one sense, #15 ended 'section one' of this story, and this starts up 'section two,' which is pretty fast paced. This story also contains the often-mentioned band the Cheshire Kittens, who've existed both here and in Superguyish type things for over a decade with none of them getting screen time until now. You get to see them in their natural environment, which is vulgarity.
The second part of "On the Threshold!" Chad starts work at the Chronicle, Teddy and Barbara begin their unicorn hunt, Leo and his brain trust begin their efforts to save Earth, Astrid begins her new life, and Mason begins his journey... but may not begin it alone...
The story of Justice Wing begins.
In an effort to make things clearer, we begin a Cast List project for Justice Wing – both for specific stories and for general background. We're starting this week with the "Junior Justice Wingers," a group of sidekicks and young heroes originally connected to the Justice Wing and later students at the Justice Wing Institute… Continue reading Amulet
We had an office Secret Santa, and I ordered a present for my giftee. Unfortunately, it didn't arrive by the day of the exchange, so I printed out a thing showing what it was, which I then folded and taped it up, and tagged with a haiku. For those who can't read my writing (a… Continue reading A haiku gift tag
The story of Lady Velvet and others at Vilify 5 continues with the second of our remastered episodes, as the Con goes into Saturday and into depth, all at the same time. Part 2 Saturday — 9:06 am Conventions ran on adrenalin and enthusiasm, but first thing in the morning, even on Saturday, they ran on caffeine.… Continue reading Vilify 5 Remastered #2
Every supervillain heist needed a Steve -- a henchman who scoped the area ahead of the job, gave the all clear, watched for police or heroic intervention, and stayed clear and un-arrested so he could make the call to the Service if the villain and other henches were arrested. The Service would then clear out… Continue reading “Being the Steve” rough draft on Patreon
Part two of the remastered Vilify 5 is available right now over on Patreon! For those who are at least somewhat patient, it will be here tomorrow for free, as always!
